 Psychological Testing

A unique skill of a Licensed Psychologist is their extensive education and training in human measurement. During the course of my university studies I was required to take many courses in statistics, human factors, individual differences, and research methodology. My doctoral dissertation involved understanding how a sample of high school students (total number = 427) were "buffered" by social support in the wake of their parents being affected by the closing of a major company plant in a small town in Indiana.

Psychological testing available through my office can be grouped under the following categories.

Cognitive
Personality
Stress
Intelligence
MMPI (General Traits)
Coping Styles
Memory
California Personality Inv.
Health Beliefs
Executive Function
Rorschach Inkblots
Social Environment
Dementia
Draw A Person
Communication
Forensic
Kinetic Family
Family Resources
Attention Deficit

While the most important assessment tool I have is myself the use of the above instruments enable me to gain a reference of how you compare to others on the various measures of intelligence and personality. Gauging the treatment effects in counseling by having you complete testing early in the process and then repeat at a later time is helpful.

Insurance carriers are likely to have restrictions governing the use of psychological testing. To read Dr. Carr's position statement on this please click here.

With the rise in awareness of Attention Deficit Disorder it is important that individuals seeking this evaluation from Dr. Carr be aware of the commitment required. To review his policy on ADHD evaluation you can review the protocol by clicking here (requires Adobe Reader).
